This weekend was a pretty mellow one, but we wanted to get out of the house since it’s starting to get warmer here on the island. It’s not quite beach weather yet, but every few days or so you can get away with wearing sandals and a short sleeve shirt. With this in mind on a sunny afternoon, my family and I decided to head over to the Sunabe sea wall for a little walk. The sea wall spans a large portion of the west coast and is a nice place for a leisurely stroll, an early morning yoga session, or a good view of the setting sun.

We decided to go during midday so that we could also take my son to the park nearby. It just so happened that he liked the sea wall better than the park! There were tons of little tide pools, fish, and shells to explore right next to the wall. Plus, it was the perfect amount of activity between nap times.

The Sunabe area of town houses many little shops and restaurants, too. It can get pretty busy on the weekends, but the views of the water are worth finding a parking spot. Plus, as the days start to get even hotter here, I’m sure we’ll be making more trips over there to get as much of a breeze from the coast as we possibly can.
